Here at UK Gas Services we continue our support of local charities. We will again sponsor the 8th annual Leicester Samaritans Beer, Cheese and Cider Festival. This is being held from 25th to 27th July, at the Anne Elizabeth Theatre Arts.
The Leicester Samaritans branch is funded entirely through donations and fundraising activities. Your support would be invaluable to the continuance of their work.
Leicester Samaritans was founded in 1964 and they have been listening for 24 hours 7 days a week since then, a record of which they are very proud. They take over 44,000 contacts a year at their branch.
From their branch in Leicester they provide confidential, emotional support to those in need of a safe space to talk over problems, feelings, stress or anything that maybe worrying them, especially those in extreme despair.
Their 160 trained volunteers respond to over 44,000 contacts for support by phone, email and face to face visits in their branch.
They also provide talks for community groups, schools and other organisations interested in their work.
They have partnerships with a number of local organisations, including HM Prison Leicester and HM Prison Gartree.
